Khotan (East Turkestan)-late 19th century

This small East Turkestan rug was probably woven in Khotan by a turkic speaking people known as "Uighurs". It has many of the amazing elements that Uighur rugs possess, notably the color combination. Yellow, Red, Green, and Aubergine Purple/grey are in this rug. It has a square shaped repair that is visable, but easily camoflaged with some work. It measures 4 ft 3 in * 2 ft 3 in.
